An overnight message from Lakewood Pet Watch brought word of separate situations regarding a lost cat and a homeless dog.

The cat, an all black female, went missing Feb. 18 from her home in the 7000 block of Lakewood Boulevard. Lucy — who also answers to “Kitty” — is spayed and collarless. Her human describerd her as “an afraid-y cat” with a small frame and green eyes.

On the canine front, a Lakewood resident encountered a friendly shepherd-chow-Lab mix dog of unknown chromosomal makeup while walking his or her dog near the intersection of Westlake Avenue and Winstead Drive.

The dog is mostly black with white markings on its tail, paws, and chest. The human tried unsuccessfully to take in the dog, but it ran away. The human said the dog “did not seem malnourished and he was friendly enough, I bet someone is missing him."
